Kruba Kritsada of Wat San Phra Chao Deang is one of the great monks in Northern Thailand. Just a day before Kruba Kritsada was born, which was 8th May 2519. In his mother's dream, she dreamt of a precious pearl flying towards her, for her to safe keep and not long after she was about to give birth. Until the next night which is 9th May Be 2519 around 11 pm, she gave birth to a child. Due to the condition of traffic and was raining heavily, that's no way that she can go to the hospital to give birth. The reason why Kritsada was given by the parent was that due to the reason that the name is similar to the mother's dream. When Kruba Kritsada was born, that's an image of lotus on his right leg which is still very obviously shown till now.
As a child, Kruba Kritsada is a very hardworking, intelligent, humble, love caring and filial son. But due to his poor health, he always falls sick. Due to the influence of his grandpa, he has started to study Buddhism Dharma at a very young age. During the grandpa free time, he always brought Kruba Kritsada to temples to do merits. The first time when Kruba Kritsada stared at the Buddha statue in the temple, he feels that the Buddha was smiling at him and felt incredibly happy. From that day onward, whenever he visit temples with his grandpa, he always does it sincerely and every time when he stares at the Buddha statue, he always has the mindset of becoming a monk.
After completing his studies in primary school, he went to become a monk who practices Buddhism and magical practice under the guidance of Phra Kru Sol Pom Lai Tanasan Abbot of Wat San Phra Chao Deang and ordained as a monk at the age of 20. While he was practicing Buddhism and magic practice in Wat San Phra Chao Deang.
While he was studying in Wat San Phra Chao Deang in the year of 2533, that was when he first met Kruba Innda of Wat Huai Sai. After Kruba Innda took him in as a disciple of him, Kruba Kritsada feels indescribable excitement due to Kruba Innda is a well-known master for his high knowledge of Buddhist Dharma and magical practice. Due to the reason as Kruba Kritsada always travels to visit Kruba Innda as he is keen to gain more knowledge of Buddhist Dharma and magic practice from him as a result, they became very close, just like the relationship between a grandpa and grandson. As Kruba Kritsada always travels between the 2 temples, he always fulfills his duties in a perfectly satisfactory manner.
Due to Kruba Kritsada is a very hardworking and keen to learn attitude. At the age of 20, he has already memorized 3 of the famous Buddhist scriptures and managed to give a speech about this 3 Buddhist scripture. In 7th May BE 2539, he was officially ordained as a monk under Phra Kru Sol Pom Lai Tanasan as his Preceptor, Luang Pu Sing Kam as his vice Preceptor. After ordained as a monk for 5 years, he was appointed as the Abbot of Wat San Phra Chao Deang at the age of 25 due to his knowledge of Dharma and his attitude towards Buddhism Practice.

**Dharma conversation with Kruba Kitsada: On Giving Alms**
**Me**: Some people say that Buddhism emphasizes meditation and that giving alms is superficial and doesn't help in achieving liberation from suffering.
**Kruba**: That's not true. Giving alms is very important. If it weren't, the Buddha wouldn't have taught it. Dana (giving), Sila (morality), and Bhavana (meditation)—do you see? If we don’t give alms, there won’t be people making merit. Without that, where would the monks stay? Where would people meditate?
**Me**: It's like building a chedi (stupa), right? If we only build the top but don’t have a foundation, the top won’t stand.
**Kruba**: Exactly. Without a foundation, the high top will fall and hit you on the head, and you'll die. How could it stand? If you only meditate but don’t give alms, you might be wise, but you'll be poor. Being wise but poor—how difficult is that? If you meditate but don’t keep the precepts, you might be wise but unattractive. No one will love or show you compassion. How hard is that?
**Me**: That's true. Just being wise doesn’t work. To say that being wise means you can make money—that's still hard work. And to say that being wise means you don’t need anyone’s help or love—that doesn’t bring happiness.
**Kruba**: Exactly. Otherwise, why would the Buddha teach the three: giving, morality, and meditation? You must practice all three. Why else would he teach all three? I’ve experienced the results of giving. One time, I went to a Buddhist ceremony for consecrating statues. There were many monks there, and we all wore face masks, so no one knew who we were. After a while, only one person came to offer water and milk to me. They didn’t offer it to anyone else, even though we were sitting close together. I thought about it and realized, ah, this is the merit from giving, the result of past acts of generosity.
**Me**: Actually, giving is really beneficial.
**Kruba**: Yes, giving is an act of letting go. The reason we are burdened now is because we cling to everything, we don’t let go. When we regularly give, we let go. And when we let go, we feel lighter and more at ease. You can also reflect on this practice of generosity as a way to develop wisdom.
Kruba Kitsada will come to Luang puu Boonsong 88th birthday.
Dana(布施)、Sila(戒)和 Bhavana(禅修)——你明白了吗?
