《Superstition》
So don’t be foolish like a turtle, a crab, or a fish—don’t go back to superstition, which is the very starting point of the person who does not yet know. That path follows the instinctive drives of the world—drives rooted in an era without true understanding.
Phra Buddhadāsa compared superstition and Buddhism in this age where many people turn to external rituals and powers, often referred to as “mū-telū” or “mystic followers.” He once said:
“Superstition is still necessary for those with weak minds.”
As long as this world is filled with people lacking strength of mind, superstition must remain.
He explained that weakness of mind means lacking courage, lacking the strength to face what is frightening or unknown. And this fear becomes the breeding ground for superstition—it becomes its stronghold.
So then, what comes next? Every person desires power—power to dominate others. Everyone wants to be superior to others. This is a deeply ingrained instinct.
Whether it’s pigs, dogs, chickens, or any other animal, each one wants to feel more powerful than the others. They want to rise above the rest, to assert dominance. I’ve raised chickens, dogs, and cats in large numbers. I’ve seen it clearly: each animal wants to overpower the others. It’s instinctual.
Humans are the same. We want to be above others. And when someone tells us, “Just recite this spell—you’ll be victorious over everyone,” people believe it. Just a few words of a magic chant, and they believe it will make them more powerful than others. “You’ll defeat everyone. You’ll be invincible!”
And so, superstition spreads—endless promises of supernatural power over others. People go to great lengths—practice meditation, perform rituals, undertake austerities—all just to gain mystical strength, to dominate. This is what superstition is all about.
Nowadays, Buddhism is at a disadvantage compared to superstition. Why? Because it doesn’t align with people’s primitive instincts. It doesn’t fit with the original ignorance that still lingers in people’s minds. So they reject the Buddha’s teachings, because they clash with their inner foolishness.
Superstition, on the other hand, matches that old ignorance, so it thrives and gains influence. If people don’t transform their ignorance, they’ll continue worshipping superstition.
And I ask: if an entire nation devotes itself to superstition, will it ever lead to true progress? Will the country prosper?
That’s a question I hesitate to answer aloud. I’d rather let each person reflect on it themselves.
It’s sad that the education system in today’s world promotes superstition even more. Instead of teaching people to open their eyes and awaken, it teaches them to chase what they crave, to fear excessively. Especially now, in this current world situation, people are more fearful and more desirous than ever. They don’t even care about what’s right or wrong anymore—just whatever pleases them, whatever eases their fear
That’s why superstitious ceremonies are now flourishing throughout society—in homes, cities, and communities. It’s because people are afraid and full of longing. They come asking me to sprinkle holy water or blow blessings on their heads. But I always tell them, “I don’t know how to do that!” And still, they don’t believe me. Some people come three times in a single month asking for the same thing. That’s how deeply rooted superstition has become.

《迷信》
所以不要像烏龜、螃蟹或魚一樣愚蠢——不要回到迷信上,這是那些尚未認識真理的人起步的地方。這條道路遵循著世人的本能驅動——根植於缺乏真正理解的時代。
佛使尊者曾將迷信與佛教進行比較,指出在這個許多人轉向外在儀式和力量的時代,這些人常被稱為「mū-telū」或「神秘追隨者」。他曾說:
「對於心智脆弱的人來說,迷信仍然是必要的。」
只要這個世界充滿缺乏心智力量的人,迷信就必須存在。
他解釋說,心智的脆弱意味著缺乏勇氣,缺乏面對可怕或未知事物的力量。而這種恐懼成為了迷信的溫床——成為其根據地。
那麼,接下來會怎樣呢?每個人都渴望權力——支配他人的權力。每個人都想優於他人。這是一種根深蒂固的本能。
無論是豬、狗、雞,還是其他任何動物,每一種都想感覺比其他動物更強大。他們想要超越其他,確立優越地位。我曾經大量飼養過雞、狗和貓。我看得很清楚:每種動物都想壓過其他。這是本能。
人類也是如此。我們想要超越他人。當有人告訴我們:「只需背誦這個咒語——你將戰勝所有人」,人們就會相信。幾句魔法咒語,他們相信能使自己比他人更強大。「你會戰勝所有人。你將無敵!」
於是,迷信蔓延——無盡的超自然力量的承諾。人們不遺餘力——打坐、執行儀式、進行苦行——都只是為了獲得神秘的力量,去主導。這就是迷信的本質。
如今,佛教相比迷信處於劣勢。為什麼?因為它與人們的原始本能不相符。它不符合人們心中仍然存在的無知。因此,他們拒絕佛陀的教導,因為這與他們內心的愚蠢相抵觸。
而迷信則與這種古老的無知相匹配,因此它蓬勃發展並獲得影響力。如果人們不改變自己的無知,他們將繼續崇拜迷信。
我想問:如果整個國家都投身於迷信,這能導致真正的進步嗎?這個國家會繁榮嗎?
這是一個我不敢大聲回答的問題。我寧願讓每個人自己反思。
可悲的是,當今的教育系統更是促進了迷信的蔓延。它不教人們睜開眼睛和覺醒,而是教導他們追逐慾望,過度恐懼。尤其是在當前的世界形勢下,人們比以往任何時候都更加恐懼和渴望。他們甚至不再關心什麼是對的或錯的——只在乎什麼能讓他們愉快,什麼能減少他們的恐懼。
這就是為什麼迷信的儀式在社會各個角落蓬勃發展——在家庭、城市和社區。因為人們恐懼而充滿渴望。他們來找我請求灑聖水或祝福。但我總是告訴他們:「我不知道怎麼做!」然而,他們仍然不相信我。有些人一個月來三次請求同樣的事情。這就是迷信根深蒂固的程度。

福由自己創造,禍也是自己創造,別人天官怎樣賜福?
業力實是自作自受啊!行善得善果,行惡得惡果
就如佛陀在《法句經165》 中說:
‘惡業及污染是自己造作的,不作惡業及清淨行也是自己
決定的,清不清淨全在自己,別人無能為力。’
求天官的概念是什麼?
就好像求一個非常繁忙的政府官員一樣, 例如美國副總統Vance:‘幫幫我吧,幫幫我吧😭 ’ send 一封email 去,結果會如何?
就算給我們聯絡到,天官做我們的朋友。
但我們天天都求我們的朋友:‘給我錢啦, 給我錢啦😭’
大家覺得如何?
就算真的給我們錢,我們不會罷休的,對嗎?😂
慾望是永無止境的,很快就會:‘賜個美女給我啦,賜個美女給我啦😭’
有個朋友每隔幾分鐘就求我們一次,天天都是這樣,大家覺得怎樣?
三十三天一天等於人間一百年。(AN3.71)
我們一天求天官一次,就等於3600秒x24/100x365=2.3 秒求他們一次😂
噢,如果我們有這樣的朋友,應該老早就和他絕交了~
Does anyone have this plaque at home?
Blessings are created by oneself, misfortunes are also created by oneself. How can heavenly officials grant blessings to us?
Karma is indeed self-inflicted! Good deeds yield good results, while evil deeds yield evil results. Just as the Buddha said in the Dhammapada (Verse 165):
"Evil deeds and defilements are created by oneself; not doing evil deeds and practicing purity is also one's own decision. Whether one is pure or impure depends entirely on oneself; others have no power to help."
What is the concept of seeking heavenly officials?
It's like asking a very busy government official for help, for example, Vance, the Vice President of the United States: "Please help me, please help me 😭" If we send him an email, what would happen?
Even if we successfully contact him, the heavenly officials becomes our friend. But we ask our friends every day: "Give me money, give me money 😭" What do you think?
Even if they do give us money, we won't be satisfied, right? 😂 Desire is endless, and soon we will be asking: "Grant me with a beautiful girl , Grant me with a beautiful girl 😭"
If a friend asks us every few minutes, doing this every day, how would you feel?
For the heaven of Thirty-three, one day equal one hundred years in the human realm. (AN3.71)
If we ask the deities once a day, it equals 3600 seconds x 24 / 100 x 365 = 2.3 seconds asking them once 😂
Oh, if we had such a friend, we should have cut ties with them long ago.

突然他說:‘他們(天神)叫我不要理’😂
如果他真的有護持的天神的話,真的隨喜讚歎他的天神😂
走到懸崖邊緣卻幸運地被人攔阻了
如果罵的是一般凡夫,雖然有惡業,但不是非常重
但如果是罵那些斬斷煩惱,心清淨的大師父,那個惡業就無限倍了
下一生要升天都難
依賴天神是非常危險的
萬一那些天神是來玩我們的話,我們隨時會掉進懸崖,萬劫不復
Whether a person practices well does not depend on having supernatural powers or not, but rather on the level of greed, hatred, and delusion.
The more greed, hatred, and delusion one has, the worse their practice becomes.
Conversely, the less they have, the better their practice will be.
It is heard that an outsider who is said to have pyschic power and divine protection. not sure if it’s true or not 😂 It might be fake.
However, he has a flaw: he likes to belittle other religious teachers and believes he is the only one worthy.
Once, while he was criticizing other religious teachers, when the topic was about to be some Thai buddhist masters he had never discussed before, he suddenly said: "They (the deities) told me not to pay attention." 😂 If he really had divine protection, we would rejoice in the deities. 😂
He is at the edge of a cliff, yet fortunately, they stopped him.
If he criticizes an ordinary common wordling, although it creates bad karma, it is not very severe. But if he criticizes those who have cut off their defilements and have pure hearts, the bad karma multiplies infinitely.
In his next life, it will be difficult for him to ascend to heaven.
Relying on deities is very dangerous. If those deities are not helping us, but tricking us; we could easily fall into a bottomless pit.
The Buddha never taught to choose a specific day to do good deeds.
Any day can be a day to accumulate merit.
The more you do each day, the more merit you will gain.
Buddhism teaches: Do good deeds every day, and that day will be good.
Whatever you do today is for that day.
Therefore, do not wait for an auspicious day to do good.

佛陀從來沒有教導過
選擇一個日子去做善事。
任何一天都可以做功德。
每天做的越多,每天獲得的功德就越多。
佛教:每天做好事,那一天就會好。
無論你今天做什麼,都是為了那一天。
因此,不要擇日行善。

如果有人說,他的教法可以讓你陞官發財,可以讓你沒有病痛以及長壽,這樣不是佛法僧三寶。
三寶只教導關於「苦與苦的熄滅」。
三寶教導「業報」,教導相信「善惡因果」以及「去惡行善」,更教導要斷除「貪嗔痴」。
這才是三寶—佛法僧的教導。
If someone says that their teachings can help you get promoted, become wealthy, be free from illness, and live a long life, then that is not the teaching of Triple Gem.
The Triple Gem only teaches about "suffering and the cessation of suffering."
It teaches about "kamma," encourages belief in "the law of cause and effect regarding good and evil," advocates "overcoming unwholesomeness and doing good," and further instructs on eliminating "greed, hatred, and delusion."
This is the true teaching of the Triple Gem—Buddha, Dhamma, and Sangha.

有許多人求這樣求那樣
其實根本不用求!
讓心變好就行了
讓說話變好就行了
讓行為變好就行了
為什麼這樣說?
---有些人求權力和地位。權力和地位從哪裡來? 從別人那裡來的啊! 別人要服從我們肯聽我們、認可我們、尊重我們;我們才有權力
我們的思想、說話、行為不好;誰服我們?誰尊重我們?
拜神有用嗎?旁門左道有用嗎?
---有些人求財富。財富從哪裡來? 從別人那裡來的啊!
我們做生意的話,錢從客戶那裡來
我們做員工的話,錢從老闆那裡來
如果我們人品不好、不誠實、只是要客戶的錢、不是處處為他們著想;他們會肯給錢我們嗎?別人肯來和我們做生意嗎?
如果我們身為員工懶惰、沒責任感、不誠實、心不好、語言不好、行為不好;老闆還會讓我們留下來嗎?老闆會加我們薪金嗎?會有人聘請我們嗎?
這時拜神有用嗎?旁門左道有用嗎?
--有些人求姣好的容貌。
但常常皺眉頭有許多人求這樣求那樣

心慈悲、清淨、快樂,就算不用去韓國整容,不用化妝;面色也會光亮明淨、容光煥發、異常吸引
---有些人求健康長壽
但常常許多負面情緒、許多煩惱
這樣是怕癌症注意不到我們嗎?
這時拜神有用嗎?旁門左道有用嗎?
假如心沒有煩惱,保持心境開朗;保證能活足令生業帶給我們的壽命
--有些人求聰明智慧
但心非常混亂骯髒,充斥煩惱,什麼都判斷不到,什麼都記不起
這時拜神有用嗎?旁門左道有用嗎?
一旦把自我去除,心立即具備正念、定力和智慧
就算不用求,聰明智慧也會來找我們
《No need to seek!》
Many people seek this and that,
but in fact, there’s no need to seek!
Just make your mind better.
Just improve your speech.
Just enhance your behavior.
Why do we say this?
--- Some people seek power and status. Where do power and status come from? They come from others! Others must obey us, listen to us, acknowledge us, and respect us; only then do we have power.
If our thoughts, speech, and actions are not good, who will obey us? Who will respect us?
Does praying to deities help? Do superstitions help?
--- Some people seek wealth. Where does wealth come from? It comes from others!
If we do business, money comes from customers.
If we are employees, money comes from our boss.
If our character is poor, dishonest, and we only want money from customers without considering their needs, will they be willing to give us money? Will others want to do business with us?
If we, as employees, are lazy, irresponsible, dishonest, with a bad heart, poor speech, and bad behavior, will our boss keep us? Will the boss raise our salary? Will anyone hire us?
At this time, does praying to deities help? Do superstitions help?
--- Some people seek beauty.
But if we often frown and harbor negative emotions, does that make them beautiful?
At this time, does praying to deities help? Do superstitions help?
A compassionate, pure, and happy heart will make our face shine, even without cosmetic surgery or makeup; the complexion will be radiant and exceptionally attractive.
--- Some people seek health and longevity,
but they are often filled with negative emotions and defilements.
Is this how to avoid cancer?
At this time, does praying to deities help? Do superstitions help?
If the heart is free of defilements and maintains a cheerful mindset, it ensures we can live out the lifespan that the Kamma original brings us.
--- Some people seek intelligence and wisdom,
but their hearts are very chaotic and dirty, filled with defilements. Cannot judge wisely , cannot remember clearly
At this time, does praying to deities help? Do superstitions help?
Once we remove the 'self', our hearts will immediately possess mindfulness, stillness, and wisdom.
Even without seeking, intelligence and wisdom will come to us.
中國明朝袁了凡先生曾以自身的經驗教誡他的兒子袁天啟關於命運的真相,著了《了凡四訓》這本書。
話說了凡先生年輕的時候遇到了一位精通術數的老人。當時老人為他算命,推算出他往後所有考試會得的名次,到某一年會當上四川省的一個縣長,在做縣長的任上三年半後,便該辭職回家鄉。甚至算到他到53歲那年何月何日何時會死去,命中沒有兒子
了凡先生就記住了算命師的推算。後來發現所有考試的名次都命中。他就自此信持‘宿命論’ ,認為凡事的吉凶都是命中註定的。
一天,他拜訪得道高僧雲谷禪師。
他和禪師對坐三天,妄念卻不曾起過。禪師就好奇問他緣由,他就將算命師的話和盤托出。
禪師聽後便笑到:‘我本來認為你是一個了不得的豪傑,那裏知道,你原來只是一個庸庸碌碌的凡夫俗子。 ’
禪師之後解釋,平常人才會被數所束縛,但假如是一個極善之人,數就束縛不住他了。
禪師繼續說:‘極善的人,儘管本來他的命數裏註定吃苦;但是他做了極大的善事,這大善事的力量,就可以使他苦變成樂,貧賤短命,變成富貴長壽。
而極惡的人,數也拘他不住。因為極惡的人,儘管他本來命中註定要享福,但是他如果做了極大的惡事,這大惡事的力量,就可以使福變成禍,富貴長壽變成為貧賤短命。’
禪師之後引導他反省以自己所作的行為是否真的值得享有功名和兒子;讓他明白命運可以改變,要多行善積德。
了凡先生明白後便在佛前懺悔一切罪過,發誓要做三千件善事,禪師也教導他念誦來禪修。
自此他生起了很強烈的慚愧之心。然後開頭那位算命先生所算的事情開始算不准了。原本算到考第三,變成考第一。自此他就相信了雲谷禪師所說:‘命運是可以改造的 ’ 了。
後來他在四位大和尚的見證下迴向了他所完成的三千件善事;並許下願;其中一個就是希望生子;然後他再許願做三千件善事。 過了一會兒竟然破除命數魔咒,生了兒子袁天啟。
後來他的心越來越善良,一天可以做十幾件善事。並竟然中了進士--這是那位算命師沒有算到的。當圓滿了三千件善事後,又發願要做一萬件善事。後來他施行仁政,為百姓減稅,並供養一萬位僧人。
原本算命先生算到他53歲便要死,但到69歲還活著呢~又打破了算命的魔咒。
所以我們可以看到,命運並不是注定的。透過行大善大惡;必定能讓算命師們懵掉。
Mr. Yuan Liaofan from the Ming Dynasty in China once used his own experiences to teach his son, Yuan Tianqi, about the truth of fate, writing the book "Liaofan's Four Lessons."
When Mr. Liaofan was young, he encountered an elderly man skilled in fortune-telling. The old man predicted all the ranks Mr. Liaofan would achieve in future exams, that he would become a county magistrate in Sichuan at a certain year, and that after three and a half years in that position, he would return to his hometown. He even predicted the exact date and time he would die at the age of 53 and mentioned that he would have no children.
Mr. Liaofan remembered the fortune-teller's predictions and later found that all the exam results came as predicted. From then on, he believed in fatalism, thinking that all good and bad fortune was predetermined.
One day, he visited the enlightened monk, Master Yungu. They sat facing each other , for three days , Mr Yuan had no thoughts arising. The master, curious about this, asked him why. Mr. Liaofan then revealed the fortune-teller's words.
After listening, the master laughed and said, "I initially thought you were an extraordinary hero, but now I see you are merely an ordinary person." The master explained that ordinary people are bound by fate, but an extraordinary virtuous person cannot be constrained by it.
The master continued, "A very virtuous person, even if destined to suffer, can transform that suffering into happiness through great good deeds. Conversely, an extremely wicked person, although destined for fortune, can turn that fortune into misfortune through their evil actions."
The master guided Mr. Liaofan to reflect on whether he truly deserved the benefits of fame and children, helping him realize that destiny can be changed through good deeds.
Understanding this, Mr. Liaofan repented before the Buddha for all his sins, vowed to perform three thousand good deeds, and learned to meditate through chanting. From then on, he developed a strong sense of shame (hiri & ottappa). Subsequently, the predictions made by the fortune-teller began to falter. Initially predicted to rank third in exams, he instead achieved first place. From that point on, he believed what Master Yungu said: "Destiny can be transformed."
Later, under the witness of four great monks, he dedicated the three thousand good deeds he completed and made wishes, one of which was to have a child. He then vowed to perform three thousand more good deeds. Eventually, he broke the spell of fate and had a son, Yuan Tianqi.
As his heart grew increasingly virtuous, he performed over ten good deeds a day and unexpectedly passed the highest examination—a feat the fortune-teller had not predicted. After completing three thousand good deeds, he vowed to perform ten thousand. He then implemented benevolent governance, reducing taxes for the people and offering to ten thousand monks.
Originally, the fortune-teller had predicted he would die at 53, but he lived until 69—thus breaking the spell of fate.
This shows us that destiny is not fixed. By engaging in great good or evil, one can surely leave fortune-tellers baffled.
吉祥在於我們自己
我們認為的吉祥,
都是因為我們迷失了。
搬進新房子時,會有很多人說好,
念誦的僧人也九位,無論什麼都是九。
如果房子的主人……不好……
即使念誦的僧人有一百位,這還能算吉祥嗎?

Moving into a new house is good. There are 9 monks chanting. Everything has only 9.
If the home owner...it's not good...
If a hundred monks chant, will it be auspicious?

當遇到逆境的時候;我們會怎樣面對?有些人會做功德,然後發願,祈求能改變窘態。宣隆大師說可以這樣做。
但當怎樣做都不能改變時,有些人就會開始轉投其他的方法,例如花費巨資看風水、 寄託於咒術、 算命、 改名字。Hmm , 但這些佛陀並沒有教導。那表示什麼?這些方法並不值得教導。可能是因為會帶來副作用,也可能因為沒有太大效果。如果真的值得教導,佛陀一早便教導了我們了。
其實這個世界上;沒有人的一生是完美的
所有人總會遇上一些缺陷與挫折
連佛陀和阿羅漢都不免要遇上一些逆境,例如誹謗啊、 輕視啊、 是非啊....
就算是聖人,也未必能夠完全解決
我們又豈能夠倖免?
沒有逆境是做不到的,但遇到逆境卻不痛苦卻是做到的
佛陀教導苦的原因是自私的渴求
假如我們能夠把渴求去除,那就自然沒有苦了
這就是四聖諦的核心
當心平靜沒有痛苦,智慧就會顯現,讓我們能夠以最好最理智的方式解決問題。
除了業力和四聖諦;假如我們還尋求其他的方式去解決問題,那是很危險的
內心會不斷混亂,失去理智,轉而迷信。誰說都去信,只為求解決問題。非常容易被人騙財騙色,被人利用
但當我們能夠去除自私的渴求;便不會把麻煩帶給別人,也能如聖賢般獲得別人的尊重;同時斬斷一切危險。
When faced with adversity, how will we respond? Some people will make merits and wish for a change in their situation. Sunlun Sayadaw says this is acceptable.
However, when nothing seems to change despite our efforts, some people may start turning to other methods, such as spending large sums on feng shui, relying on spells, black magis, fortune-telling, or changing their names. Hmm, but the Buddha did not teach these methods. What does that indicate? These methods are not worth teaching. They may lead to side effects or may not be very effective. If they were truly worthwhile, the Buddha would have taught them long ago.
In fact, no one's life is perfect in this world. Everyone will encounter some flaws and setbacks.
Even the Buddha and arahants faced adversities, such as slander, contempt, and gossips... Even saints may not be able to completely resolve these issues. How can we expect to escape?
No one can avoid adversity, but it is possible to face it without suffering.
The Buddha taught that the cause of suffering is selfish craving.
If we can remove those cravings, then suffering will naturally cease.
This is the essence of the Four Noble Truths.
When the mind is calm and free of pain, wisdom will manifest, allowing us to solve problems in the best and most rational way.
Besides karma and the Four Noble Truths, seeking other ways to solve problems can be very dangerous.
Our minds may become increasingly chaotic, losing rationality and turning to superstition. People may start to believe anything just to solve their problems. This makes them very easy to be deceived, taken advantage of, and exploited.
However, when we can remove selfish cravings, we will not bring troubles to others and can earn the respect of others like those sages; at the same time, we can cut off all dangers.
《夢》
根據《阿毗達摩概要精解》和《彌蘭王問經》,有幾個做夢的原因
1. 因為各種身體物質的刺激,例如各種疾病,身體失調等的
2. 因為以前的經驗
3. 日有所思,夜有所夢
4. 天神託夢
5. 預兆
1-3都是沒有意思的
如果是天神託夢,但我們隨意相信,也是危險的。
我們怎樣知道這真是天神託夢還是是心建構出來的夢境?
我們怎會知道他是想害我們還是幫我們?
有這個故事。據說在羅哈娜(Rohaṇa )的龍大寺 (Nāgamahā Vih ā ra ),有個大長老沒有得到比丘僧團的同意就叫人把一棵龍樹 nāgarukkha 砍掉。
住在那棵樹的神生氣長老,就先獲取他的信任,然後在夢裡告訴他:「從現在起再過七天,護持你的國王將會死亡。 」
長老相信了他的話,就告訴國王的王妃們。她們一起大聲哭泣。國王問:「那是什麼? 」
她們告訴他:「長老如此這般說。」
國王叫人算日子。七天後,國王還在生,於是他便很生氣,就叫人把長老的手腳砍掉了。
所以大家看到,胡亂相信東西是可以害死人的
但有些夢是真的預兆來的。 例如佛陀還是菩薩的時候, 就曾經發了五個夢,佛陀以他的全知之智在後來解釋了每個夢所帶來的含義和預示。(AN5.196)
阿姜曼也有發過一個預兆夢,他也用自己的智慧而知道了那個的含義。後來也證明他的解讀是正確的
但我們不是佛陀,我們沒有全知的智慧。我們沒有很深的正念、定力和智慧
一旦有定力才會看清並且知道凡人不能知道的許多東西
Ajahn Golf 也說:【當我們修正念,定力跟智慧,不斷提升的時候;如果我們有做夢的話,我們的心就能區別,這些夢有什麼益處,有什麼意義,有利益,還是沒有利益,還是以後一定發生。我們的心就會抓到,然後去分別到這些夢是有意義還是沒有意義】
因此對於我們來說,夢?就當發夢算了,因為大部分的夢通常就沒有多大的意思,我們也不知道自己解讀得對不對。 Ajahn Golf 也說,他其實也沒有太在意這些夢
"Dreams"
According to the 《A Comprehensive Manual
of Abhidhamma》 and 《the Questions of King Milinda》, there are several reasons for dreaming:
1.Due to various physical stimuli, such as diseases and bodily imbalances.
2.Based on past experiences.
3.What we think about during the day manifests in our dreams at night.
4.Divine messages in dreams.
5.Omens.
Reasons 1-3 are meaningless.
If it’s a divine message, but we believe it blindly, it can also be dangerous.
How can we know if it is truly a divine being giving us hint ? or a dream constructed by our mind? How can we discern if the god intends to harm us or help us?
There is this story: It is said that in the Nāgamahā Vihāra in Rohaṇa, a senior monk, without the consent of the monastic community, ordered the cutting down of a nāgarukkha tree.
The spirit residing in that tree was angered by the monk's actions. It gained his trust and then told him in a dream, "In seven days from now, your king will die."
The monk believed this and informed the king's queens. They all cried out loud. The king asked, "What is this about?" They told him, "The elder said this and that." The king had the days calculated. Seven days later, the king was still alive, and he became very angry, ordering the monk's hands and feet to be cut off.
So, as everyone can see, blindly believing in things can lead to dire consequences.
However, some dreams are genuine omens. For example, when the Buddha was still a Bodhisattva, he had five dreams, which he later explained in detail, revealing their meanings and implications (AN 5.196).
Ajahn Mun also had a prophetic dream and understood its meaning through his wisdom. His interpretation was later proven correct.
But we are not the Buddha; we do not possess omniscient wisdom. We lack deep mindfulness, stillness, and wisdom. Only with stillness can we see and understand many things that ordinary people cannot know.
Ajahn Golf also said: "When we cultivate mindfulness, stillness, and wisdom, continuously improving; if we dream, our minds can discern the benefits, meanings, and relevance of these dreams, or whether they have no significance or are destined to occur. Our minds will grasp this and differentiate whether these dreams are meaningful or not."
Therefore, for us, dreams? Just let them be dreams, as most dreams typically hold little significance. Plus , we wont know whether our interpretation is correct. Ajahn Golf also mentioned that he does not pay much attention to these dreams.
天神怎可以亂信?
如果有個金光閃閃的天神走過來
告訴我們應該這樣做那樣做
我們會去信他嗎?
誰人功德夠,死時臨終一念又是善的,就有機會再生成為天神
正在做功德的我們有沒有貪嗔癡?
正在做功德的我們會不會害人?
正在做功德的我們會不會怨恨別人?
如果會,那最好就不要相信天神了
怎麼知道他會否整我們?
怎知道他會否害我們?
在JaA.447本生經中, 就有天神來給佛陀的父親淨飯王傳來錯誤的訊息:‘啊,你苦行中的兒子死了’
最後? 菩薩覺悟成偉大的佛陀後還活多了50年呢
所以怎可以亂信天神。
就算佛菩薩顯現給我們也不要信
誰知道是真是假的?
啊,你去殺了他吧--如果菩薩叫你殺人,您會殺嗎?
佛教徒只相信真正的佛陀、法和聖僧眾
任何透過貪嗔癡而造下的業,只會帶來痛苦,被智者所譴責
How can celestial beings be blindly trusted?
If a shining celestial being came to us
and told us what we should do or not do,
would we believe them?
Whoever has enough merit, and at the moment of death has a good mind, has the chance to be reborn as a celestial being.
While we are doing good deeds, do we have greed, hatred, or delusion?
While doing good deeds, do we harm others?
While doing good deeds, do we harbor resentment towards others?
If so, it’s best not to believe in celestial beings.
How do we know they won’t deceive us?
How do we know they won’t harm us?
In the JaA.447 Jataka tale, a celestial being sent a false message to King Suddhodana, the Buddha's father: "Ah, your son in asceticism has died."
In the end? After the Bodhisattva attained enlightenment as the great Buddha, he lived for another 50 years!
So how can we blindly trust celestial beings?
Even if a Buddha or Bodhisattva appears to us, we shouldn’t believe it.
Who knows what is real and what is false?
Ah, go ahead and kill him—if a Bodhisattva tells you to kill, would you do it?
Buddhists only believe in the true Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha.
Any karma created through greed, hatred, or delusion will only bring suffering and be condemned by the wise.
持國天王(四大天王之一)的女兒,吉祥天女曾說:
‘自己創造成功,不幸亦是自己創造的
的確地,沒有人為其他人創造成功或不幸’(JaA.382)
我們失敗,
不是因為別人壞了我們的風水陣,
也不是父母給我們取了個不好的名字,
也不是父母選錯時辰剖腹生下我們
也不是因為電訊公司給了個不好的電話號碼給我們
而是由我們現在或過去的思想,語言或行為的過失而造成的
不用依賴天神而獲得幸福,也不用詆毀天神導致我們的失敗
因為吉祥天女已經說過了,不關他們的事,
禍福只是關我們自己事,關我們自己的業力而已。
天神幫還是不幫其實不太重要。
如果有福,天神不幫一樣可以發達幸福
如果有罪業,鬼神不害我們一樣可以家破人亡
The daughter of the dhataraṭṭha deity King (one of the Four Great Heavenly Kings), the goddess Auspicious once said:
"Success is created by oneself, misfortune is also created by oneself. Indeed, no one creates success or misfortune for others." (JaA.382)
We fail,
not because others have disturbed our fengshui settings,
nor because our parents gave us a bad name,
nor because our parents chose the wrong time to give birth to us,
nor because the telecom company gave us a bad phone number.
Rather, it is due to the mistakes of our current or past thoughts, speech, or actions.
We do not need to rely on deities to attain happiness, nor do we need to blame deities for our failures,
because the goddess Auspicious has already said that it is not related to them.
Fortune and misfortune are solely related to ourselves and our own karma.
Whether the deities assist us or not is actually not very important.
If we have merits, we can prosper and be happy even without divine help.
If we have bad karma, even if the spirits do not harm us, we can still face ruin and despair.
佛陀在一部經有提起。就是以前的人,當他們生起害怕的時候,他們就會以樹林,山丘,樹神,山神,任何的這些作為皈依處。有些人去依靠這些破廟,有些人去依靠大的動物,例如蛇,有些人去依靠這些樹神,山丘啊,這些。就是就是這樣去皈依,就是因為生起恐懼,對災難的恐懼,對疾病的恐懼
他們不了解這個業力,所以當遇到這些災難,這些疾病,這些意外,就會認為是外面的那些天神,那些鬼神,這樣那樣,讓我們變成這樣的。那這種的信仰,是屬於愚癡,而且沒有任何的理由的。那這個世界,會生起,是因為業力,是因為因果,遇到的所有東西,都是因為業力,因為因果,是因為這樣有,所以這個有;因為這個滅,所以那個滅。 不是任何東西創造我們出來。不是任何其他的東西把這個化現出來的。
當佛陀他覺悟之後,他看到世間的因緣,因果,這些業力,那他才去教導眾生,而成就這個佛法
當佛陀教導這個法,有這個法之後,有些跟隨者依照佛陀所教導,見到佛陀所教導的東西,而去除所有的痛苦,解脫所有痛苦,而生起了這個僧團。當這個佛法僧在這個世間出現,佛陀就看到這個三寶,佛法僧是最殊勝的皈依處。所以我們作為一個人類,有高尚的生命,要去相信關於有因果,有理由的事情,不是去相信沒有任何因果沒有理由,不要因為任何的恐懼害怕而去相信

一般來說,有很多人會相信風水命理這些
但它們究竟是怎麼一回事呢?
在這裡配合聖典和行內各專家的經驗,分享一下它們實際上是什麼來的。
【算命】
大家有算過命嗎? 算命師跟您說過什麼? 準確嗎?
一個命盤在我們出生時已經定了,算命師充其量只是用我們的時辰八字, 來推測我們的種種。
假如是這樣, 算命最多只是算到我們過去世帶來的業力, 但並不能看到我們今生所作所為所帶來的業力和影響力。
如果以佛教的說法,未來並不是完全確定的。除了看我們的過去世的業,也看我們今生的業。
假如這樣知道的話, 算命會有 100%準確這回事嗎? 試過有一位經驗豐富, 富有名聲的命理老師宣傳自己, 他說他的紫薇斗數算命準確率達到 80%。如果不是100%也敢拿出來說, 那麼表示大部分命理師的準確率會是比 80% 更差。假如不是100%,不一定是真的,信來有什麼好處?
認識一些命理師, 他們說其實術數這些, 只是大數據分析學。 古人都是依循不同人在某一個時辰的數據, 而整合出不同的推測。 現代社會相比起古代社會變了許多, 所以有時古書所記載的已經不合時宜了, 他們唯有再從他們的顧客中再提取新的資訊, 而再整合他們新的結論。
術數本身的參考度很有限。 比如說, 在同一個時辰出生的人, 一個生在美國, 一個生在非洲一個落後部落; 他們的遭遇會是一樣的嗎?
試過有人追踪著兩個同時辰出生的人。 在他們成長中, 便發現他們一生之中所遭遇的性質有些類似, 但準確來說當然不同。 他們家裡有多少個兄弟姐妹已經不同了。
聖典中也記載了一個故事:大財長子出生在佛陀時代巴拉納西的一個巨富之家,娶了一位娘家富有的女子為妻。
他沒有運用智慧去管理自己的財產,也沒有付出努力去工作投資, 而是將所有的財富都揮霍於美酒、鮮花、塗香、音樂和歌舞等,終至一貧如洗。
只有在他們老去,前往仙人落處精舍乞食時,才得以遇見佛陀。
有一天,佛陀見到了大財夫婦,他告訴阿難尊者:
如果大財年輕時好好經營生意,他會成為巴拉納西的首富;若年輕時出家,他會成為阿拉漢,而他的妻子會是不來聖者。
同樣地,如果他中年時妥善打理事業,他會是城中的第二富者;若出家,他會成為不來聖者,而他的妻子會是一來聖者。
即使在他上了年紀後,如果可以這麼做,他依然會成為城中的第三富人;若出家,他仍能成為一來聖者,而他的妻子會是入流聖者。
然而,由於疏忽大意,如今他一無所有,既沒有在家人的財富,也空無出家人的法財,而且死後,他必定再生於地獄。
所以, 就算命理師說您會多麼富有,也不要相信。 今生的行為可以讓您從原本的富豪變到成為一個乞丐。而且, 從這個故事可以看出, 他們兩夫婦在那一生是在家還是出家, 根本說不定。未來是不確定的。
如果算命說我們是一個易怒、小氣、吝嗇、喜歡妒忌、貪婪的人。 但我們出家修行然後成為阿羅漢根斷一切不善與煩惱呢?
佛陀時代也有一個名叫“昔不給” adunnapubbako的婆羅門, 在他一生之中從來沒有佈施過任何東西。就算他兒子要病死了, 他捨不得用錢找醫生來。 後來佛陀向他說法, 他便證悟初果了。 他的心完全改變了, 開始會慷慨佈施了。 假如算命師說這個時辰出生的人特別吝嗇, 那麼又算不準了。
又比如說, 算命師算到某人的壽命是這樣長的。 但如果他成為聖者然後修四神足延壽, 又算不準了。
一切事物都要條件的配合才得以發生。 算命師說我們會做總統, 但同一個地方同一個時辰出生的人多的是。 假如我們造了很大的惡業然後壽命立即中止, 又不能應驗了。不是在吹牛,在佛陀時代的確有發生過壽命提早中止的事例:佛陀的叔叔Suppabuddha因為佛陀拋棄妻子,和提婆達多對頭,因此非常怨恨佛陀。他在一次飲醉酒時便故意對佛陀無禮,要和佛陀作對,於是叫手下擋住佛陀的去路。結果因為這個大的不善業,佛陀預言他將會在七日後從上層平台樓梯掉下來,被大地吞沒,最後墮入地獄。雖然Suppabuddha絞盡腦汁讓這件事不要發生,但七日後他真的如佛陀預言那樣被大地吞沒,掉入地獄了。
又比如說,算命先生說我們一生人都會受人厭惡。但假如我們由現在開始具備一切美德,對人好,幫助別人,救助貧苦,布施給同僚,具備戒行,常常散發慈心。我們的人際關係真的會那麼差嗎?
佛陀說,一個喜歡布施的人,在今生起碼會得到以下利益:
1.受到許多人的喜愛
2.能夠結交寂靜的善人, 例如修行人、聖者
3.會有很好的名譽
4. 在大眾中會很有自信(AN5.33)
所以命理術數雖然也有他們的靈驗事蹟,但如果不是100% 準確的話,信來對我們也沒有太大利益。
【相學】
但關於面相,佛教徒又不敢否認。因為在DN30經中,佛陀的確有提到相學的真實性。 佛陀說,具備三十二個大人相的人,只有二個結果,並無其它:如果是在家人的話,將會是轉輪王;如果是出家人的話,將會是佛陀。 在那篇經中,佛陀將三十二個大人相逐個解釋:過去曾經做過什麼業,就會得到這個相;而如果有這個相,在家做轉輪王時會怎樣,出家做佛陀時又會怎樣。
如果佛陀也這樣說,我們也不能夠否認相學的真確性。一個人長什麼樣子,的確代表著他某些命運。
但一個人的面相有時會轉變,那再次說明其實我們的未來一直在轉變。
【風水】
古人都說一命二運三風水。看來風水也影響著我們的命運?
無可否認,我們身處的地方或多或少都會影響我們的心。假如我們處於一個寧靜氣場好的地方,我們的心會很舒服很有力量。 《慈經》的義註中提到,有一班比丘曾經在佛陀那裡取得業處後,佛陀指示他們要到某個樹林那裡打坐;因為佛陀知道那個地方將有利於他們的修行。除了那裡之外,再沒有適合他們的修行地方。 後來就如佛陀所預見的,他們就在那裡證悟阿羅漢果了。
但除了佛陀以外,風水師所說的建議是否真的值得相信?
之前有一位在泰國很有名的道教師父,現在已經去世了。人們都相信他有天眼通,能夠預知未來,和神明溝通。他也懂得風水。在香港的娛樂圈也頗有名氣,常常有明星走去泰國請他指點迷津。這位師父曾替一位香港的明星為他的商舖選址看風水。然而,一年後就關門大吉了。
也聽過有例子,有人造了一個五鬼運財局的祖墳。風水學來說原本是速發暴富的,但卻沒有應驗。
所以假如大家有二十萬港幣,大家會請一位頂級風水師看風水,還是布施給阿羅漢的僧團? 看完風水後沒有保證一定百分百會好,但我們供養給阿羅漢僧團的話,那個善業肯定100%有,我們未來肯定會有很大的善果報,得到很大的快樂。
【法術神通】
關於法術神通,要說一個故事給大家聽:
以前馬來西亞慧光法師的師父是降頭師來的。他有他的波羅蜜,他20歲出家,22歲他就跟別人醫病。很多人中降頭了,許多人病了,都來排長龍來找他。他每天看的病人有百多個。開始是幾個幾個,慢慢越來越多。開始是灑聖水,灑灑灑,到後來太多人了,不能灑了,就用水龍頭噴。奇怪了,噴了會好的。為什麼會好?因為他的禪定力量強,他的心力強,他散發的慈心也強。但這個方法不是永久的方法,只是暫時的。
他跟別人醫病,醫了一年多。到後來,有一次,他無緣無故,忽然間不能站起來,不能走路。在地上一直爬,一直爬。他說心裡面像地獄的火在燃燒。足足一個禮拜。後來他聽到一個聲音:你違反了這個因果。人家業報現前要受報,你違反了這個因果。現在你要受懲罰了。你假如不再放棄這個行業的話,你將會終身不能走路。他聽了之後,七天過後他慢慢開始恢復。那時他捨掉了,一切的東西都捨掉了
也認識一位有神通的人士,他具備天眼通,能夠預知未來發生的事情。有一次,他看見他朋友的弟弟在第二天出海後將會遇上海難,因此而喪命;於是他好心地提醒了他,叫他不要出海。 弟弟聽了他的建議,第二天沒有出海。然而另外一個人出海了,就到他遇上海難死去了。
很快那個有神通的人士立刻生重病,足足病了一個星期,受了很大的痛苦。
神通法術,佛陀是完全具備的。然而佛陀不會隨便用。因為干涉了因果會帶來災難。人們原本要受這個報應,然後我們貿然改變了它,這還符合天理嗎? 所以佛陀都不會教導弟子法術這些。一來對滅除我們內心的痛苦沒有一丁點兒幫助,二來就是我們不知道用了去幫人之後有什麼後果。佛陀知道,但我們不知道,這樣會出事。
就算是一些法術師父,聽過他們也會提醒弟子,假如見到別人的債,不要說出來,不然就會去了你那裡。
違反因果法則,本來就是在違反天理。
再說一個故事給大家聽。大目揵連尊者曾經遇到一隻 臉色青白、惡臭的、空中行走的女鬼,鳥類一一降臨她後,拉裂她,使她發出痛苦的聲音。(SN19.14)原來她曾是女占相者。義註說,她之所以有這樣的惡果,是因為她欺騙大衆,接受香水和花朵。她對他們說,只要他們做某些儀式能夠變得富有,讓大衆接受了邪見。她變得惡臭,是因爲接受了香水和花朵,醜陋因爲讓他們接受了邪見
【徵相】
在AN5.175中,佛陀說,具備五法的在家男居士是卑賤的居士。其中兩點是興奮於吉兆,和相信吉兆而非業。
義註解釋,所謂的興奮於吉兆是指,看到一些什麼東西後,聽到一些什麼東西後,感知到什麼東西後,便說 ‘’這個人將會怎樣怎樣‘。
但JaA.4 中卻記載著一個故事。從前,當梵與王住在迦尸國波羅奈京城治國時.我們的菩薩生於財務官之家。長大後做了財務官.人名之為小財官。他為人聰明伶俐.能解一切預兆。有一日,他跟隨國王行走,途中看見一隻死鼠.當即配合了星象想道:『倘有聰明的男子把這鼠取去.可以娶妻立業呢。』
當時一位窮困的男子聽了這位財務官的話.忖道.『那人想不會毫無所知而說這樣的話的吧.』於是將鼠取去,漸漸開始了他娶妻立業之道,應驗了菩薩的說話。
假如只是單憑看到什麼,聽到什麼,感知到什麼,而說這是吉兆惡兆,今天會行好運或行衰運,那就是邪見。 就算是菩薩,他也是配合了星象而說出預測。但既然佛陀沒有教導,那即表示沒有百分百準確的這樣的知識給我們去學習。 所以理性來說,這些資訊對我們也沒有多大的幫助。
【佛牌和聖物】
在泰國,有許多大師父都會派佛牌和聖物給大眾,有些甚至是公認的聖者。
有位信徒聽說某大師父的佛牌很靈驗,而且師父說可以用來發願。那位師父是具有定力與神通的。於是那位信徒便拿來天天發願了。 但他發現發願後他的願望並沒有成真。
他也借給他認識的人用來發願,祈求能夠通過考試,但也沒有成真。
也有信徒收過一些聖物。大師父保證放在錢包裡錢會用不完。那位信徒就把它放到錢包裡。但過了不久,他的錢卻被電騙騙光了。
問說佛牌聖物有沒有用? 可能有吧,因為有時出自聖者之口,聖者的心意,他們不可能騙我們;可能是一些禪定的祝福力量。但用處有多大,能否勝過業力?相信不能。這世上,沒有什麼神奇力量勝得過業力。
“…..世間一切皆根據過去所修的福德因緣而生,
並非隨意產生的。
在這個世界上,無論是失望、滿足、離別,
或是未能如願以償,
一切皆依據過去所造的業力而來。
沒有任何事物能夠相互抵消,
不論你去向何處,
如果我們所遭遇的,
是業報的結果,
那麼任何神明也無法提供幫助。
能夠幫助我們的,唯有保持正念,
並勇敢面對。
做好功德,這就是
應對業報的方法,
業力的流轉……"
“…..Everything in the world arises
according to the merits and conditions that one has cultivated,
not as arbitrary creations.
In this world, whether it is disappointment, fulfillment, separation,
or not obtaining what one desires,
everything occurs according to the currents of karma
that the individual has previously created.
Nothing can negate this.
No matter where one goes,
if what we are facing
is the result of karma,
then no deity can help.
What can help us is to have mindfulness
and to confront it directly.
Performing good deeds to their fullest
is the way to cope
with the consequences of karma,
the currents of karma….”

大師說這年這個生肖單身者易脫單,為什麼這一班只有這幾個脫,其他人不能脫?那幾個脫的已經一直在談戀愛了。

他們解決人生問題的方法很簡單, 只相信兩樣東西:業力、四聖諦
如果諸事不順怎麼辦?
沒關系~ 不是由於風水不好、犯太歲、犯了煞、算命師算到這個那個, 全都不是
僅僅是過去的惡業成熟了
繼續做好事囖, 因為善有善報,以這些善業沖淡惡業, 未來一定會好~
心裡的痛苦僅僅是因為渴愛、貪求, 並不是誰來施加給我們的。 如果想去除痛苦,去除這個貪求就可以了。這個要靠自己, 因為誰都幫不到我們把痛苦拔除。
無論所思、所說、所做,我們不傷害自己、 不傷害別人, 來限制自己的貪婪和嗔恚(戒)
心沒有太受煩惱的擺佈、也不容易因犯事而後悔,因此會較常人穩定 (定)
接著我們因為內心的平靜, 讓我們較易看到或者思維到世間事物、身心都是不斷變異、無法掌控、不能維持, 從而能夠厭倦它們, 產生放下執著的效果(慧), 把貪求拔出
如果誰想騙佛教徒的錢, 也騙不到。 因為他們心中只有業力和四聖諦
No one should have an easier life than a true Buddhist.
Their way of addressing life’s problems is simple: they believe in only two things: kamma and the Four Noble Truths.
What if things don’t go well?
It doesn’t matter—it's not due to bad feng shui, poor astrology sign, or predictions from fortune tellers; none of that matters.
It’s simply the maturation of past bad kamma.
Just continue to do good deeds, because good will always be rewarded by the law of nature, and these good actions will dilute the negative kamma, ensuring a better future.
The pain in our hearts comes solely from craving and desire; it’s not inflicted by anyone else. If we want to eliminate suffering, we must remove this craving. This is something we must do ourselves, as no one can help us eradicate our pain.
In all our thoughts, words, and actions, we do not harm ourselves or others, this is to limit our greed and anger (precepts).
When the mind is not overly influenced by defilements and is not easily swayed by regret from wrongdoing, it becomes more stable (stillness)
With inner peace, we can more easily see or understand that worldly matters, as well as our bodies and minds, are constantly changing, uncontrollable, and cannot be maintained. This realization leads to a sense of detachment (wisdom), allowing us to uproot our cravings.
If anyone tries to deceive Buddhists for their money, they won’t succeed, because in their hearts, they only adhere to kamma and the Four Noble Truths.
