According to the Pali Canon, the ten *kasiṇas* (meditation devices) mentioned by the Buddha are: earth, water, fire, wind, blue, yellow, red, white, space, and consciousness. (AN10.25)
However, in the *Visuddhimagga* (Path of Purification), the ten *kasiṇas* are listed as: earth, water, fire, wind, blue, yellow, red, white, space, and light.
Here, all eleven meditation methods will be introduced.

以同樣方法,可以培育任意顏色的遍禪;不限於只是黑色、黃色、紅色、白色.....
Traditionally, there are four types of color kasina meditations: Blue Kasina, Yellow Kasina, Red Kasina, and White Kasina.
Among the four color kasinas, the White Kasina is considered the best, as it can make the mind clear and bright.
**Steps**
1. Throughout the entire meditation process, relax and let go to the max.
2. Close your eyes and visualize a white object, such as a bone or a white rose (as shown in the image below).
3. Then focus on its whiteness, continuously and silently reciting 'white, white...'.
4. Continue focusing on it. The mind will gradually become calm, joyful, and comfortable. Some meditators may expand the area of whiteness to fill the entire universe—but this step is optional.
5. If stillness deepens further, the entire body may suddenly feel a current-like joy flowing through it—this is the **First Jhāna**. The First Jhāna has five factors: Initial Application (Vitakka), Sustained Application (Vicāra), Joy (Pīti), Happiness (Sukha), and Oneness of Mind (Ekaggatā).
* In the First Jhāna, sometimes the mind may wander a little, and **Initial Application (Vitakka)** is the mind re-applying itself to the meditation object.
* **Sustained Application (Vicāra)** is the mind continuously aware of the object.
* **Joy (Pīti)** is the current-like joy flowing through the body.
* **Happiness (Sukha)** is the sweet, pleasant feeling within the mind.
* **One-pointedness of Mind (Ekaggatā)** is the unification and focus of the mind.
7. If we let go of the meditation object, and the mind simply settles—this means **Initial Application (Vitakka)** and **Sustained Application (Vicāra)** are abandoned. At this point, only **Joy (Pīti)**, **Happiness (Sukha)**, and **One-pointedness of Mind (Ekaggatā)** remain—this is the **Second Jhāna**.
8. At this stage, let go of the current-like joy, leaving only the sweet, pleasant happiness—this is the **Third Jhāna**.
9. At this stage, even the sweet, pleasant happiness within the mind is let go—this is the **Fourth Jhāna**.
Using the same method, one can develop kasina meditation with any color; it is not limited to just black, yellow, red, or white...

5. If stillness deepens further, the entire body may suddenly feel a current-like joy flowing through it—this is the **First Jhāna**. The First Jhāna has five factors: Initial Application (Vitakka), Sustained Application (Vicāra), Joy (Pīti), Happiness (Sukha), and Oneness of Mind (Ekaggatā).
