不懂此法時... 不得不戰 

試看這房間，今夜若待在玻璃房外 

敵人即刻湧來，大小蚊子都來襲 

若將「法」置於心外（房間外），便需如此戰鬥 

但若進入房間（內心），還需要戰鬥嗎？ 完全不必 

然而多數人說：不戰便非佛法 

為何不對煩惱作戰？試問煩惱可曾主動尋你？ 

從未。總是我們主動尋它，再稱它為敵 

煩惱，不取則少，若執取... 便真的無窮盡 

When one does not understand this Dhamma... one must fight. 

Consider this room: if you stay outside the glass room tonight, 

enemies immediately appear—mosquitoes large and small come at once. 

If we place the Dhamma outside the mind (outside the room), we must struggle like that. 

But if we enter the room (inside the mind), is fighting necessary? Not at all. 

Yet most people say: if you don’t fight, it’s not Dhamma. 

Why not fight against defilements? Ask yourself: have defilements ever come looking for us? 

Never. It’s always us who go seeking them, and then call them enemies. 

Defilements—if not taken up, they are few; if embraced... they truly multiply.

人啊，往往看不見美好的事物， 

因為內心低下。 

當內心低下時，就如同垃圾一般， 

只看見腐爛、惡臭的東西， 

只對腐爛惡臭的事物感興趣， 

於是只能看到他人的缺點與不好之處。 

但若是內心高尚的人， 

內心如同天人一般， 

就只會看見美好的事物， 

只會看見他人的善與優點。 

正因為內心高尚， 

所以選擇去看他人美好的一面。 

People, you know—

often fail to see what is good,

because their minds are low.

When the mind is low, it becomes like garbage,

seeing only rotten things,

interested only in what is foul and decayed.

Thus, they see only the faults of others.

But a person with an elevated mind,

a mind like that of a deva,

will look only at what is good,

see only what is good.

Because the mind is high,

one chooses to see only the good in others.

如果我们是佛法修行者，但仍然缺乏慈心，不能原谅别人，不看别人好的一面，这意味着我们还没有真正获得法。

'If you keep sending your mind outward,

soon you’ll start seeing this and that,

all sorts of visions—

devas coming to talk to you,

voices telling you to do this or that.

In the end, you won’t be able to find your mind—

you’ll only find these mental images (*nimittas*).

Before long, you’ll go crazy.

If you don’t want to go crazy,

then don’t pay attention to them.

It’s like going into your house and closing your room.

If guests show up at the front door,

but you don’t open it to greet them,

then nothing happens to you.

You’re inside, in your room,

with the air conditioner on, cool and comfortable—

so why open the door to let the guests in?

That’s exhausting!

We don’t want that—receiving guests like that."

如果你一直把心往外送，

很快你就會開始看到這個、看到那個，

各種幻象都會出現——

天人跑來跟你說話、

有聲音叫你做這做那。

到最後，你根本找不到自己的心，

只會找到這些禪相（nimittas）。

不用多久，你就會瘋掉。

如果你不想發瘋，

那就別去理會這些東西。

就像你回家後關上房門，

如果有客人來按門鈴，

但你不開門招呼他們，

那他們就拿你沒辦法。

你待在房間裡，

開著冷氣，涼爽又舒服——

幹嘛還要開門讓客人進來？

那樣多累人啊！

我們才不想這樣招待客人呢。
