我們啊,根本就是貪心!😂
出家人不能持有金錢。但佛陀准許他們在生活必須品上,需要什麼就尋求什麼(SN42.10)
如果我們有福報啊,需要什麼時,不用求;居士自己就會拿來給我們
隆波帕默說:‘有些師父的生活如同國王,他們不求什麼,也不貪圖什麼,但有許多人來供養。他們並不執著,但所使用的飲食和物品都是最好的。’
只是因為我們貪心、 不知足,才想發大達,然後怎樣怎樣。
事實上,縱使我們有許多間房子,我們也只是住一間啊
縱使我們有許多錢,也只是吃到飽就停了
縱使我們有許多衣服,一天也只是穿一套
不斷飢渴於金錢,只會帶來內心的痛苦和混亂
良好的出家人有什麼就滿足於什麼,所以時時處於快樂的狀態。
他們雖然一無所有,但不會餓死的!
We’re Just Plain Greedy! 😂
Monastics aren’t allowed to hold money, but the Buddha permitted them to seek what is necessary for their basic needs (SN 42.10).
If we have good kamma, we don’t even need to ask—lay devotees will naturally offer what we need.
Luang Por Pramote once said: "Some monks live like kings. They don’t ask for anything, nor do they crave anything, yet many people come to support them. They aren’t attached, yet the food and items they use are of the finest quality."
But because we’re greedy and never content, we dream of getting rich and all that.
In reality:
Even if we own many houses, we only sleep in one.
Even if we have piles of money, we stop eating once we’re full.
Even if we have loads of clothes, we only wear one set a day.
Endlessly thirsting for wealth only brings inner suffering and chaos.
Good monastics are content with whatever they have, so they’re always at ease.
They may own nothing, but they’ll never starve to dead!
我們長久以來都被煩惱騙了
我們都愛說:‘只要得到這個,達到這個目標,我就心滿意足了’
唉,我們說這句話不知說了多少生多少世了。
就算我們真的得到,真的滿願了;我們還一樣繼續要~對不?
我們看啊,由出生到現在,我們都一直重複這個模式
所以是時候拆穿自己的謊言了,我們不會滿足的!
是時候停了!
一日我們還不斷想要,還要不斷遭受痛苦
一旦我們完全地知足,就能終止不停受苦的循環,證悟涅槃.....
We've Been Deceived by Defilements for So Long
We've all said it countless times:
"If I can just get this, achieve that goal, I'll be truly satisfied."
Alas, how many lifetimes have we repeated this very phrase?
Even when we actually obtain what we desired,
do we ever truly stop wanting? Of course not.
Look carefully - from birth until now,
we've been trapped in this endless cycle.
It's time to expose this self-deception:
We will never be satisfied!
It's time to break the pattern!
As long as we keep craving,
we'll continue suffering.
Only through complete contentment
can we end this cycle of suffering
and realize Nibbāna...
《您是有錢還是沒錢?》
有錢還是沒有錢,取決於夠還是不夠。
有一百個億依然不夠,心就依然是窮的,心依然是鬼。
有吃有喝,沒有像別人那麼有錢,冬天依然有衣服可以穿,不需要有什麼名牌。我們的心是夠的 。一旦心是夠的 ,心就不餓 ,那些心不餓的人就是有錢人。
那些依然窮的人,是心依然很飢餓, 有一百個億依然還是窮的, 因為這個不停的飢餓 。
這些人是鬼的靈魂,鬼他是怎麼都不飽的。古人畫的鬼就是個子很大,嘴巴很小,怎麼吃都不飽。
其實就是一個訊號,是貪心很重的人的一個訊號-- 吃多少都不飽,都不滿意的,但是這麼說,並不是說真正的鬼不存在,是存在的。這個鬼有各種各樣的類別。

"Are You Rich or Poor?"
Being rich or poor depends not on how much you have, but on whether it's enough.
Someone with ten billion dollars can still feel it's not enough—their mind remains poor, still a hungry ghost.
On the other hand, if you have food to eat, clothes to wear in winter ;even without luxury brands, your heart is content—then you are truly rich. When the mind is satisfied, it is no longer starving. Those whose minds are not hungry are the real wealthy ones.
Those who remain poor are those whose minds are endlessly hungry—even with ten billion, they stay poor because of this insatiable craving.
These people have the souls of pretas (hungry ghosts). A preta is never full—ancient depictions show them with huge bodies but tiny mouths, forever eating yet never satisfied.
This is actually a symbol of extreme greed—no matter how much they consume, they remain unsatisfied. That said, this doesn’t mean real pretas don’t exist—they do, in many forms.

我們會求自己有品,求自己有美德,求自己有修行上的成就,求自己證悟涅槃
其實只要求一樣東西就可以了,就是滿足。
佛陀說,他不見有另外一樣東西,會讓不善法增長,善法減退的,就如這個不知足。(AN1.64)
我們之所以沒品,是因為想要世間上太多東西了,有太強烈的想要。
還有想要,是因為不知足,不滿足。
當我們的貪欲跨國界限,我們一切美德便蕩然無存了。
因為顧著拿東西給自己,我們吝嗇,不肯布施,不肯幫助別人。
我們可以為求私慾而違背道德
我們內心要這個要那個,抓這個抓那個,不斷散亂,毫無定力和平靜
我們內心的混亂,讓我們看不清任何東西,失去理智和智慧
這些源自於不知足。
一旦我們開始知足,一切美德便會由此而生(AN1.65)
因為我們滿足,我們不需要再從這個世間撈取些什麼,我們肯於布施。
因為我們滿足,我們不會再因慾望而違背戒律
因為滿足,心不再四處抓東西給自己,所以我們得到內心的平靜和定力
因為內心平靜有定力,所以我們看清許多東西,智慧也開了
梵天神之所以不用性愛,是因為他們處於禪定的滿足狀態,根本不需要感官享樂去滿足自己,已經夠快樂了!
從初果開始,一個人已經很快樂了(SN55.30) 他們滿足,讓他們能夠有穩固的戒德和其他的美德
當果位越上,他們的滿足感就越多,貪欲就越少
假如是阿羅漢,他們滿足到爆棚,根本不再需要任何東西去填補自心。這顆心本自具足。
所以一個越滿足和快樂的人,必然是品德越好的人。
"Cultivating Contentment: The Root of All Virtues"
We strive to become virtuous, to develop noble qualities, to achieve progress in practice, and even to attain Nibbāna—
yet all these can be fulfilled through one thing alone: contentment.
The Buddha declared:
"I know of no other single thing that so fuels the growth of unwholesome qualities and withers wholesome ones as this: lack of contentment." (AN 1.64)
Why We Lack Virtue?
Our moral failings stem from wanting too much from this world—an insatiable craving.
When Greed crosses boundaries? All virtues collapse.
We hoard, refusing to give or help others.
We compromise ethics for selfish desires.
The mind grasps endlessly? Agitation replaces peace and stillness
Chaos and restlessness of mind blinds wisdom; clarity is lost.
The root? Discontent.
But when contentment arises, all virtues flourish (AN 1.65):
Generosity blooms: Satisfied, we stop "taking" and start giving.
Precepts stabilize: No temptation can breach our discipline, because we are already content
Mind calms: No grasping means natural stillness and focus.
Wisdom awakens: A settled mind sees reality clearly.
The reason that Brahmā gods abstain from sex and sensual pleasures, is that their jhānic bliss leaves no craving for lesser joys!
From Stream-Entry ,practitioners already finds themselves happier than ordinaru beings, because they are content(SN 55.30), Their contentment anchors virtue.
With each higher path, craving shrinks; fulfillment grows.
An arahant? Overflowing with contentment—nothing is lacking.
So, the happier and more content one is, the more virtuous they are
A person with great wealth
Does not necessarily have the most happiness.
No matter how rich one may be,
It doesn't mean all wishes will be fulfilled.
No matter how abundant the possessions,
There's no guarantee of constant happiness.
Having much but not knowing contentment brings suffering.
The pain of lacking is equal to the desire to possess.
Greed is a desire that can never be satisfied.
Being rich or poor isn't measured by how much one has,
But by whether our hearts know contentment.
The Buddha taught: "Santutthi paramam dhanam"
(Contentment is the greatest wealth).
It means feeling content is true spiritual wealth.
Contentment gives birth to sharing and generosity,
To sacrifice and dedication in benefiting others -
These are the marks of a truly rich heart.
But a heart filled only with endless desires,
That knows no satisfaction, no sacrifice,
No sharing or giving -
This is what we call a "hungry ghost"......

擁有萬貫家財之人,
未必擁有至極幸福。
無論多麼富足,
難保萬事皆能如願以償;
無論多麼豐裕,
亦無法擔保永享安樂。
擁有越多卻不知足,痛苦越深。
求不得苦,等同慾望之痛。
貪婪是永不滿足的渴求。
貧富不在於擁有之多寡,
而在於內心是否知足。
佛陀開示:「知足最富」
意指知足之心才是真正的精神財富。
知足孕育分享與布施,
犧牲奉獻以利他人——
此乃心靈富豪之特質。
若心懷無盡貪欲,
永不知足,不懂犧牲,
不願分享與施予——
此即所謂「餓鬼」......
我們必須知道並理解這一點:想要擁有更多、獲得更多的慾望,只是我們自己心的造作。實際上,一切保持不變。即使當我們希望擁有更少或什麼都沒有——這仍然是相同的。沒有任何真正的改變。
We must know and understand this: the desire to have more, to gain more, is just a creation of our own mind. In reality, everything remains the same. Even when we wish to have less or nothing at all—it's still just the same. Nothing truly changes.

做人不要貪心
活到現在,夠了!
隨時死去?完全沒問題。
誰還想活多些? 就是因為這樣的貪欲,讓我們要不斷輪迴下去。
我們以為自己臨死時可以捨去對生命的執著,證入涅槃?
不要傻了!
現在還不斷貪心貪心,想要活得更長久;到死時都一樣!
如果誰肯說:‘夠了!’
這是貼近涅槃的心
他將能清高地渡過餘下的日子,受到別人的尊重
Do not be greedy.
Living until now is enough!
It’s perfectly fine to die at any moment.
Who wants to live longer? It is this kind of greed that keeps us in constant cycles of rebirth.
We think we can let go of our attachment to life at the moment of death and attain nibanna?
Don’t be foolish!
If we are still filled with greed, wanting to live longer, we will feel the same way at the time of death!
If someone is willing to say, "Enough!"
that reflects a mind close to nibanna.
They will be able to live the remaining days with dignity and earn the respect of others.
佛陀曾說,有兩種病:身體的病和心的病
一個人可能一年、 三年、 十年、 五十年、 一百年身體都無病
但除了阿羅漢之外,自稱心片刻間無病的有情是非常難得到的
佛陀說出家人有四種病
對自己所擁有的生活所需不滿足
因此爲了更多的名譽、 利益、尊敬而生起邪惡的慾望
之後爲了取得這些而努力
算計後去到在家人那裏、作一切活動,表現自己,想人知道自己如何如何,以獲取所欲求的利益和尊重
佛陀告誡比丘不要做上面那些,要忍受寒、暑、飢、渴,與蚊蟲的接觸,也忍受辱罵、誹謗、身體上强烈的痛苦感受 (ref. AN4.157)
如果出家人這樣,固然值得同修的斥責。 出家就是為了去除自己的貪嗔癡,而不是為了增長自己的貪嗔癡。
但其實出家人的病,在家人也一樣有。
我們何嘗不是慾壑難填的呢?我們何嘗有對自己的生活滿足過?
我們也一樣為了滿足自己的強烈的自私心,而生起不好的欲求,不擇手段,違背道德
之後這樣著手去努力填滿自己的慾望
然後在別人面前表現自己,以獲取名利
如果我們是這樣,這次不是被佛陀說了,而是被我們的同事說是非😂
The Buddha once said there are two types of illness: physical illness and mental illness.
A person may be free from physical ailments for one year, three years, ten years, fifty years, or even a hundred years.
However, apart from Arahants, it is very difficult to find any sentient being who claims to be free from mental illnesses even for a moment.
The Buddha stated that monastics have four types of illness:
Dissatisfaction with their basic needs for living.
The arising of unwholesome desires for more reputation, benefits, and respect.
The effort to acquire these benefits.
Engaging in various activities to show off, and seeking recognition from lay people to obtain the desired benefits and respect.
The Buddha admonished the monks not to engage in such behavior. Instead, they should endure cold, heat, hunger, thirst, contact with mosquitoes and insects, as well as insults, slander, and intense physical pain (ref. AN 4.157).
If monastics behave this way, they certainly deserve the reproach of their fellow practitioners. The purpose of ordaining is to eliminate one's greed, hatred, and delusion, not to increase them. However, the same illnesses affect laypeople as well.
How are we different? we are also insatiable in our desires. Have we ever been satisfied with our lives?
We, too, often give rise to unwholesome desires driven by strong selfishness,
employing various means and violating moral principles to satisfy our cravings.
We then strive to fulfill our desires and showcase ourselves in front of others to gain fame and profit.
If this is the case, it's not the Buddha who speaks ill of us, but rather our colleagues. 😂
國王陛下曾說:“人必須知道足夠。”
那些無法行走的人也必須學會足夠。
如果我們不理解這一點,痛苦就會隨之而來。
無論天氣是熱是冷,我們都必須接受。
事物就是如此。

你願意容忍多少瘋狂?

His Majesty the King has said, ‘One must know sufficiency.’
Those who cannot walk must also learn sufficiency.
If we don’t understand this, suffering will follow.
Whether the weather is hot or cold, we must accept it.
Things are simply as they are.
What more do you want?

提到感恩,大家聯想起什麼?
有些人會聯想起基督教。他們的確很重視這一項美德,甚至聽過有基督徒的名字就被改為 ‘X感恩’ --真的,不是開玩笑😂
這是好事。
例如見過有一個病人,去醫院看病
看完病後,他就問醫生護士:‘平時醫院有那些意見回饋的條碼的~ 為什麼這裡沒有? 我想表達對你們服務的感謝。’
他繼續說起他的病歷。幾年前他原來被診斷只剩下半年壽命,然後奇蹟地卻能活到現在。
他說,他非常感謝每一位醫治過他的醫生,每一次都會寫下感謝的字句感謝醫護。
一個常常懷有感恩之心的人--就好像這位病人一樣--是很容易滿足的,心靈也會很健康。 因為一些小事,已經能讓他滿足快樂。 因為滿足,所以不會過於貪求世間的一切,自然也不容易因欲求不滿而起嗔心。整體的煩惱也會很薄
佛陀曾說,他不見除了知足外,有其他東西讓善法增長,不善法減退(AN1.65)
當一個人常懷感恩之心,知足之心;他的心靈品質非常高。
二十多層天界,越上去,那些天神的滿足感就越高。好像四天王天還需要好像人類般的性愛來填補自心,越上去的性愛就越淡薄;到梵天界,那些梵天神根本就不用性愛,他們的心滿足和快樂到不可思議。
這位病人雖是人類的身體,心已經在天界了。
When it comes to gratitude, what do people associate it with? Some might link it to Christianity.
True, they indeed place great importance on this virtue, and it is even heard of that Christians having their names being "X Gan en (Grateful in chinese)"—no joke! 😂
This is a good thing.
For example, once there was a patient who went to the hospital for treatment. After his appointment, he asked the doctors and nurses, "Why aren't there any feedback QR codes here? I want to express my gratitude for your service."
He continued to share his medical history. A few years ago, he had been diagnosed with only six months to live, yet miraculously, he was still alive today.
He expressed deep gratitude for every doctor who treated him and would write thank-you notes after each visit.
A person who often harbors a sense of gratitude—like this patient—is easily satisfied, and their mind will be very healthy.
Small things can bring them joy
and because they are content, they are less likely to crave for things in this world, making it less easy for hated to arise from unfulfilled desires.
Overall, their defilement will be quite thin.
The Buddha once said that he did not see anything other than contentment that allows wholesome qualities to flourish and unwholesome qualities to diminish (AN1.65).
When a person constantly embodies gratitude and contentment, their spiritual quality is very high.
The higher the heavenly realms, the more the sense of contentment. For instance, in the realm of the Four Heavenly Kings, gods still seek human-like sexual pleasures to fill their hearts; but as one ascends, those sexual pleasure become less course.
In the realm of Brahmas, the Brahmas do not require sexual pleasures at all; their hearts are filled with an incredible sense of satisfaction and happiness.
This patient, although in a human body, already has a heart that resides in the heavenly realm.
Perhaps due to his abudant wholesome qualities, he is able to extend his life
其實輪迴根本就是一個騙局
我們以為擁有很多東西的人就是勝利者
於是我們也渴求擁有很多東西
但我們看不清,真正的勝利者是什麼都沒有的
是指心中什麼都沒有~
假如我們心中擁有許多東西,反而是人生的失敗者
為什麼這樣說?
看過一段惡搞影片,就是兒子想惡整父親
於是帶來了一個演員來扮自己的女友,但人設是一個夜總會女郎😂
父親看到後當然心裡很不是滋味,但仍然抑制自己的情緒;說,其實最重要還是他們覺得合拍就行,自己不會干預他們
誒~如果我們這樣聽到,都會讚那位父親真是開明、 好相處,對嗎?
為什麼如此做到? 那是因為父親並沒有把兒子太當成是‘我的’
他心中並沒有太執住兒子,有兒子好像沒兒子那樣
這樣反而能夠和兒子維持良好的關係
有許多情侶,之所以能夠細水長流,相伴到老
也是因為他們有伴侶好像沒伴侶,沒有太把伴侶當成是‘我的’
如此減少了許多的控制欲、 壓迫感、 妒忌、 吝嗇、 生氣、 傷心等等的負面情緒
這樣反而能夠一直維持良好的關係
有些有錢人富有時不太快樂,有些卻能很快樂
那是因為有部分有錢人把財富當成是‘我的’、‘我的’ ,非常吝嗇,既不肯把錢用在自己身上,也不肯把錢用到別人身上。結果沒有絲毫快樂
但有些有錢人卻沒有太把財富當成是‘我的’ ,慷慨大方,能夠把錢用在自他身上,為自他帶來快樂
把有當成是沒有,反而是最成功的人
所以輪迴根本就是騙局
沒有的人想要擁有
擁有而過得快樂的人,卻沒有真的擁有
我們還追求些什麼?
當下‘沒有’ 已經是最快樂的了,不要再投胎轉世了
In fact, samsara is essentially a scam.
We think that those who possess many things are the winners.
Thus, we also crave to have many possessions.
But we fail to see that the true winners are those who have nothing—
meaning, those who have nothing in their hearts.
If our hearts are filled with many things, we are actually the failures in life.
Why do we say this?
once there is a prank video where a son wanted to prank his father.
He brought in an actor to play his girlfriend, but the character was that of a nightclub hostess. 😂
When the father saw this, he naturally felt uncomfortable, but he suppressed his emotions and said that what mattered most was that they felt compatible, and he wouldn’t interfere.
If we heard this, we would praise that father for being open-minded and easy to get along with, right?
Why was he able to do this? Because the father didn’t see his son as “mine.”
He didn’t hold on too tightly to the idea of having a son, as if having a son was like not having one at all.
This allowed him to maintain a good relationship with his son.
Many couples can continue happily together until old age
because they treat their partner as if they don’t really possess them, not holding on tightly to the idea of “mine.”
This reduces the many negative emotions such as desire to control, stress, jealousy, stinginess, anger, and sadness.
This, in turn, allows them to maintain a good relationship.
Some wealthy people are not very happy, while others are quite happy.
This is because some wealthy individuals view their wealth as “mine” and are very stingy, unwilling to spend money on themselves or others. As a result, they find no happiness at all.
But some wealthy individuals don’t see their wealth as “mine”; they are generous and can use their money for themselves and others, bringing happiness to both.
Those who treat having as not having are the most successful.
Thus, samsara is essentially a scam.
Those who have nothing want to possess.
Those who posess but are happy, however, do not truly possess.
Why are we still pursuing?
In the present moment, "not having" is already the happiest; there’s no need to be reborn again.
‘花若盛開,蝴蝶自來’
如果我們真的做得好,就算不用求,好事自然也會來
如果我們自己真的具有某一方面的特長、 管理才能,根本不用自我宣傳或祈求,那些獵頭公司也會打電話給我們,邀請我們擔當大職位
例如有些公立醫院的大醫生醫術高明,頗得名望;那些知名的私家醫院便會派人打電話給他們,邀請他們過檔
就算我們賣保險或者做生意,假如我們真的處處為客人著想,慈悲地為客人提供最高質素最好的服務,希望他們得到快樂,不渴望得到他們的錢;就算我們不用宣傳,他們很自然也會為我們宣傳:‘這個保險經紀/這個生意人太好了!太老實了!太有良心了!’ 客人自然蜂擁而來
如果我們真的做好布施,持戒和禪修;就算不用祈求,自然也能得到一切美好的事物:好名譽、 受人喜愛、 自信、 大量財富、地位、 權力、聰明智慧、 天界的投生、 涅槃---它們是自己來的
佛陀在MN6中教導比丘們,假如他們希望得到許多四資具、 被同修尊敬、 喜歡;他們只需要持好戒、 修習止觀。
隆波間夏說:【假如自我被放下,在家人便願意帶來供品,就算比丘嘗試拒絕。他們會很早來到,想要給予;他們不會接受‘不’ 的。不論一位好比丘去到哪裡。人們都會追隨然後布施錢!】
確實,當自私被去除,那便能和任何人都和平共處,得到所有人的喜歡和尊敬。根本不用祈求,那是自然發生的。
當我們去除一切自私的渴求,滿足於目前所擁有的;心便會變得有正念、有定力、有智慧。
無論是在家人還是出家人都能有效地處理世間和出世間一切事務;有很巨大的成就。
到時候,任何渴求人才的人都會主動來找我們的
"When Flowers Bloom, Butterflies Naturally Come"
If we truly do well, good things will naturally come without needing to ask for them.
If we genuinely possess certain talents or management skills, we won’t need to promote ourselves or plead; headhunters will call us, inviting us to take on significant positions.
For example, some prominent doctors in public hospitals, known for their exceptional skills and reputation, will receive calls from well-known private hospitals inviting them to join.
Even if we are selling insurance or running a business, if we genuinely prioritize our clients' needs and compassionately provide the highest quality service to ensure their happiness—without desiring their money—clients will naturally promote us: "This insurance agent/businessperson is amazing! So honest! So conscientious!" Customers will flock to us.
If we truly excel in generosity, observe precepts, and practice meditation, we will naturally receive all good things: good reputation, being liked, confidence, abundant wealth, status, power, wisdom, rebirth in heavenly realms, and ultimately, Nibbāna—they will come to us effortlessly.
The Buddha taught in MN6 that if monks wish to receive many four requisites and be respected and liked by fellow practitioners, they only need to observe the precepts and practice samatha and vipassanā.
Luang Por Ganha said: "If the self is set aside, laypeople will willingly bring offerings, even if the monks try to refuse. They will come early to give; they will not accept 'no.' Wherever a good monk goes, people will follow and offer money!"
Indeed, when selfishness is removed, one can coexist peacefully with anyone and gain the liking and respect of all. There is no need to ask; it happens naturally.
When we eliminate all selfish cravings and are content with what we currently have, our hearts will become mindful, still, and wise.
Both laypeople and monks can effectively handle all worldly and transcendent matters, achieving great accomplishments.
At that time, those who seek talented individuals will actively come looking for us.
There is an English saying: "Count your blessings," which means we should be grateful for the good things in life.
This is very important.
In fact, the achievements we have today, whether big or small, are not ours. They are the result of many combined conditions.
Think about who has helped us.
Think about who gave us this body.
We have received the kindness of many people, but we often forget to acknowledge and thank them.
Once we remember the kindness of others, it's easy to develop loving kindness and compassion for them, which nourishes and brings joy to our hearts—that's one benefit.
Secondly, when we reflect on our blessings we have, we can reduce our focus on what we lack
英文有一句話叫:‘count your blessings’ ,即是要對生命中美好的事物要存感恩之心。
這很重要。
因為事實上,我們之所以能有今時今日或大或小的成就,都不是我們的。
乃是由眾多條件組合而成的
想想有誰幫過我們?
想想這個身體是誰生下來的?
我們得到了許多人的恩惠,但從來沒有想起過和感謝他們
一旦想到別人的恩惠,就很容易對他們生起慈悲之心,讓自己的心滋潤快樂;這是其一
第二就是,當我們想起自己所擁有的幸運;就能減少關注自己缺少的事物、自己所遭遇的不幸;這是知足,也是讓自己快樂的方法
古人說:「知足者,貧亦樂,不知足者,富亦憂」
就算我們一無所有,只要知足,滿足於僅僅足夠於生存生活的衣服、食物;那也可以很快樂~
出家人擁有什麼?出家人一無所有,不能持有金錢;但他們是世上最快樂的一群;因為他們少欲知足
我們比出家人擁有得多,甚至我們當中有些人是富豪來的。但仍然天天愁眉苦面。為什麼?因為無時無刻都想要渴求更多
老子在《道德經》中說:「禍莫大於不知足。」
當我們不斷想要想要;難道每一樣渴求都能被滿足嗎?
現實肯定會狠狠地潑我們冷水的
The ancients said: "Those who are content are happy even in poverty; those who are not content are troubled even in wealth."
Even if we have nothing, as long as we are content with just enough clothing and food to survive, we can still be very happy.
What do monks possess? They own nothing and cannot hold money, yet they are among the happiest people in the world, because they desire little and are content.
We have much more than monks; some of us are even wealthy. Yet many of us still wear a frown every day. Why? Because we constantly crave for more and more.
Laozi said in the "Tao Te Ching": "There is no greater misfortune than not being content."
When we keep wanting more and more, can every desire truly be satisfied? Reality will surely douse us with cold water.
The poor suffer because they lack material comfort.
The rich suffer mentally because they do not know contentment.
貧者因缺乏物質舒適而痛苦。
富者因不知足而精神上痛苦。

佛陀說,
“健康最上利, 知足最上財
信任最上親, 涅槃最上樂”
沒有健康的話, 什麼都假。
想要去旅行去不了, 想要和朋友吃喝玩樂也做不到
身體不健康, 修行也很困難, 常常倒臥在床, 雖然想禪修, 但卻被昏沉睡眠擊倒。
有些人身體劇痛, 原本能夠入禪, 變到不能入禪
心靈不健康, 就算有整座金山在面前, 也不能享用到它, 不能從中得到快樂。
所以健康是最上的利益
知足是真正的財富。
知足者貧亦樂不知足者富亦憂
假如我們滿足於自己所有, 無論多少, 我們便能從中找到快樂
如果不知足, 不斷渴求渴求, 就算給我們做到轉輪王、帝釋天, 心也不安樂, 心也充滿混亂
所以一個人是否富有, 是看他知不知足
信任是最上的親人。
如果我們不信任父母的話 , 連父母也不是我們的親人
如果我們對一個人很信任的話, 就算他和我們沒有血緣關係, 他們也比親人和我們親近
涅槃是最上樂。
佛陀說, 人間的欲樂, 天界的欲樂, 都比不上涅槃之樂1/16
一位已抵達涅槃的人, 無論發生什麼事, 他的心都一樣快樂滋潤
因此佛陀說,
“健康最上利, 知足最上財
信任最上親, 涅槃最上樂”
佛陀在<<大吉祥經>> 教導, 要達致吉利吉祥的其中一個要素, 是知足。
我們覺得自己很慘? 很不濟?
不, 已經很好了。
我們還在生, 這表示什麼? 我們至起碼有足夠的食物和資本存活下來---這已經很足夠了
比丘們一無所有, 不能持有金錢, 一日吃一餐。 他們卻過得開開心心,為什麼我們會愁眉苦臉?
因為不知足
The Buddha teaches in the "Great Auspicious Sutra" that one of the key elements to achieving good fortune and auspiciousness is contentment.
Do we feel sorry for ourselves? Do we feel inadequate?
we are already very blessed
We are still alive. What does that mean? It means we at least have enough food and resources to survive—this is already more than enough.
Monks own nothing, cannot hold money, and eat only one meal a day. Yet they live happily—why do we frown?
Because we lack contentment.
Just seeing the number of children --'11' is stressful
it is simply a football team!
imagine they keep fighting each other, as parents, we are annoyed
imagine they keep envying each other, as parents, we are annoyed
imagine they all request more time from papa, that is stressful
imagine they keep complaining around on social media , that their papa has not given enough love to them, that is stressful
sometimes having less is better than having more
光是看到孩子的數量——“11”就讓人感到壓力,
這根本就是一支足球隊!
想像他們不斷互相打鬥,作為父母,我們會感到煩惱。
想像他們不斷互相嫉妒,作為父母,我們會感到煩惱。
想像他們都要求爸爸給他們更多時間,那是壓力。
想像他們在社交媒體上不斷抱怨,說爸爸沒有給他們足夠的愛,那是很大的壓力。
有時候,擁有更少比擁有更多要好。

《不知足導致痛苦》
許多痛苦的起源是因為慾望熾盛,不知足
有一千萬,就想要一億
有一億,就想要十億
有十億,就想要一百億
佛陀曾在《法句經》186中說:‘即使天上灑落金幣,也無法滿足欲望;愛欲是樂少苦多的’
慾望就如海洋一樣,無論下多少雨,它都不會知足。
要那麼多錢來做什麼呢? 有時只是因為虛榮,要面子。
我們現在的錢真的不夠嗎?我們所擁有的一切真的不夠嗎?
我們到今時今日還能活下來,表示已經夠了
表示已經夠滿足我們基本需要了
只要夠滿足我們生存的基本需要,那已經足夠了
比丘們不持有金錢,什麼都沒有,他們天天托缽維生;生活上都要依賴人。但認真修行卻取得成果的他們,卻是世界上最快樂的人。為什麼?因為他們知足
只要我們鏟走想要比人好的虛榮之心
每天醒來只是為了幫助別人,帶給別人快樂
那麼就算擁有多少,都沒關係
因為已經足夠快樂了
《non-contentment leads to sufferings》
Many sources of suffering arise from immense desires and a lack of contentment.
With ten million, one desires one hundred million.
With one hundred million, one desires one billion.
With one billion, one desires ten billion.
The Buddha stated in the Dhammapada 186: "Even if gold coins fell from the sky, they would not satisfy desire; craving brings little joy and much suffering."
Desire is like the ocean; no matter how much rain falls, it will never be satisfied.
What do we need so much money for? Sometimes it's just for vanity, for face.
Is our current amount of money really insufficient? Is everything we have truly not enough?
The fact that we are alive today indicates that we have enough.
It means we have enough to meet our basic needs.
As long as we have enough to satisfy our basic needs for survival, that is sufficient.
Monks do not possess money; they have nothing. They rely on alms for their daily sustenance. They depend on others for their living. Yet, those who diligently practice and achieve meditative results are the happiest people in the world. Why? Because they are content.
If we can rid ourselves of the vanity that desires to be better than others and wake up each day simply to help others and bring them joy, then it doesn't matter how much we have.
Because we will already be sufficiently happy.
